Why WanderPack?
The Problem:
There seems to be gear for pretty much every scenario in the backcountry. Yet, one key problem is missing a solution: periods.
Until now, the standard practice for dealing with periods in the woods has been to store all used tampons or pads in a ziploc bag wrapped in duct-tape. For overnight expeditions, that period bag needs to be put in a tree to avoid attracting wild animals to the campsite. Since there’s no easy way to hang a plastic bag, the period bag may be stuffed in the same “bear bag” that contains food and other “smellables”. Multi-day trips mean re-opening the bag with all its bloody contents and adding each newly used product to the collection.
Why wouldn’t you just throw them out?
Unfortunately, there are no trash cans in the backcountry. And, due to Leave No Trace Principles (which make sure our forests stay healthy and clean) all trash must be packed out until we’re in the frontcountry again (and have access to a trash can).
Why WanderPack:
